On Thursday December 16, 2010, I had called the GameStop location on Towne Dr. in Fayetteville to check to see if they had a DS game in stock. I was elated when I was told that they in fact did have it and would hold it for me until I got there. This game was particularly important to me because it is all my son wanted for his birthday, which is on December 19th. I had asked the associate what time the store closes so I would be sure to make it on time, he stated that they close at 10 p.m. I unfortunately got lost trying to find it and ended up having to send my fiancé out to get it. He ended up arriving at the store at 9:55 p.m. When he went to enter the store he found that the doors were locked and that the young male employee was inside talking away on his cell phone. My fiancé at that time decided to knock on the door in hopes of getting his attention to get some service, as it was clearly not closing time yet. (I was on the phone with him this entire time to make sure he got the game, as it was the last store to have it in stock) Since I had called ahead, the game was right at the customer service counter waiting for us to pick up, and would not have taken more than 2 minutes to complete the transaction. Instead of honoring the posted closing time, the employee decided to ignore my fiancé's plea to allow him to purchase the game. At that time he again knocked on the door to try to show the employee the time on his cell phone. Again the employee looked at him, rolled his eyes, and went about his cell phone conversion. At that time my fiancé was quite irritated (as was I!), and yelled through the glass that he would contacting his manager about his outrageous behavior. What happened next absolutely stunned me. As my fiancé and I were discussing what just happened while he was talking to me from inside the car in the parking lot, the police showed up! The officer stated to my fiancé that the employee had called them and claimed that he had threatened to stab him and wanted him arrested! We were both in a state of shock! The employee had blatantly lied to the police, and showed flagrant disregard and abuse of our police and emergency services! Luckily the officer saw right through his rouse and let my fiancé go without incident. My fiancé is not only an upstanding citizen, but is also a well known and well respected member of the community. The actions of that employee that night were not only utterly despicable, but extremely detrimental to the business itself. I am so appalled my the experience that I nor any of my family or friends will ever again step foot in that establishment unless there is an adequate and immediate resolve to this situation.
